Blackburn Festival 2015

The Drama Circle students took part in The Blackburn Festival of Speech and Drama on 9th and 10th May and swept the boards with five students winning 1st, 5 winning 2nd and another 5 winning 3rd place

From the back row left to right: May Daley won 1st place for Shakespeare 16 years and over; Harvey Haworth 2nd place 15 years and under Acting; Cameron Kershaw 2nd place 12 years and under Acting and 2nd place 12 years and under Prepared Prose.

2nd row left to right: Hollie Esson 3rd place 10 years and under Verse Speaking; Poppy Leedham 2nd place 12 years and under Acting Duologue and 3rd place in 12 years and under Bible Reading.

Front row left to right: Imogen Haworth 1st place 9 years and under Bible Reading, 1st place 9 years and under Verse Speaking and 3rd place for 9 years and under Prepared Prose; Milly Heyworth 1st place for 7 years and under Verse Speaking; Natasha Crewdson 3rd place for 10 years and under Verse Speaking.

Students who unfortunately couldn’t make the photograph but also deserve a special mention are: Fenella Lamle who won 1st place in 15 years and under Shakespeare; Molly Kelly 2nd in 12 years and under Acting Duologue and Harry Deegan won 3rd place 11 years and under Verse Speaking.

Students Imogen Haworth and May Daley also made it though to the finals on Sunday 10th May and then won the finals too! May Daley will now go on to represent Blackburn in the regional finals in September!
